My journey into the world of massage therapy began around twenty years ago as a client, and it has changed my life.  My first experiences with massage correlated with a number of other life-altering events; I had begun practicing kung fu and meditation.  Incidentally, it was around that time that I also moved out of my parents’ house to live on my own for the first time.  The most amazing aspect of the massage sessions was that I had never reached such a level of relaxation in my life.  I experimented with a few different therapists and became more impressed after noticing numerous benefits of having massage sessions on a regular basis.  I was more alert and focused, had increased energy and stamina, was able to alleviate physical stress from exercise and work and decrease recovery time from injuries as well as diminish mental and emotional stress as well.  I respected that my therapist had the knowledge and ability to help me and others work toward living without pain and stress – without taking medication.  While I of course appreciate what medical doctors do in general, and many of the ways in which they treat a never-ending multitude of diseases, injuries and ailments, I know from both professional and personal experience, we quite often experience pain that cannot be detected by any device nor effectively treated with any medication.   In many cases, various methods must be applied in order to manipulate the body’s soft tissue (without getting too esoteric here) and the body’s subtle energy.  That is when an effective therapist comes into play and that is what I, many years after my first experiences with massage therapy, strive to be each time I am in a client session – an effective, passionate, knowledgeable and professional massage and bodywork specialist.

I am a licensed, nationally certified massage therapist and a graduate of the National Massage Therapy Institute.   Besides working from the office of doctors Michael and Melissa McCue at Colonial Valley Chiropractic and doing house calls, I am also the lead therapist at a high volume spa, where I train and coach other massage therapists in clinical massage techniques and customer service, in addition to taking clients throughout the day.  At night I teach kung fu.  I am the most senior instructor at Southern Shaolin Academy under Sifu Louis Diaz.  I live in Ewing, NJ with my beloved wife, Chris and our cool cats, Pablo and Tiger Lily.

ABOUT YOUR THERAPIST

Mission

My mission is to provide residents of the Mercer County and surrounding areas with affordable, quality massage and bodywork by a caring and skilled practitioner in a comfortable, relaxing environment.  My goal is to tailor each client’s experience based on initial consultation information, as well as some in-the-minute feedback during the massage, to ensure maximum effectiveness of technique, personal comfort and overall satisfaction.   Using appropriate soothing music, quality oils and lotions, nature sounds or silence – as the client prefers are all considerations when creating an altogether pleasant sensory experience of sounds, smells and textures which enhance the session and allow for a massage which is both relaxing and energizing.

Vision

"Ananda" is a Sanskrit word which translates as "joy", "happiness" or "bliss".  More accurately, it could be stated that it actually mans "one of the highest states of being".  How does this relate to my vision statement?  It's simple; I want you to be happy!  Who among us wishes to be the opposite?  My vision is nothing less than to have every person in the world be in less pain, (physical and emotional) and that we may experience more peace and lasting joy.  A lofty goal you might say, but we (Earthlings) should be satisfied with nothing less.  My most immediate concern is with decreasing stress, which can be acheived quite effectively with therapeutic massage and bodywork techniques. Studies show that massage alleviates physical pain, lessens depression and anxiety, eases medication dependences, enhances sleep quality and reduces fatigue, all of which are factors which greatly affect our overall sense of well-being.  Experts agree that being happy is directly related to our level of personal success. Therefore, don't put off taking care of your body as it will be with you throughout your journey in this lifetime.  As much as possible you want to experience a state of mind which is clear, balanced and aware.  However, you serve the world best when you share your experience with others and show by example how to live a meaningful and gratifying life.  Along with the right combination of positive attitude, healthy disciplines and practices such as exercise and meditation, eating nutritional foods and getting adequate rest, massage therapy allows one to reach a state of relaxation and well-being which is conducive to having a clear vision of purpose. Having a clear purpose enables us to make better decisions that keep in mind the concerns of all humankind, therefore making the world a better place in which to live.
